Where did he get that name? Roy was trying to figure out a name for his new project lots of silly names came to mind but nothing was sounding right then one night while sitting in the house he picked up an album by one of his boyhood hero's the band NAZARETH and with a little drop of sparkle RAZAMANAZ Disco was born.
Roy has been in the entertainment industry for over 20yrs. Roy got interested in performing on stage when he joined the school pantomime and later joined the school band. Roy appeared in three pantomime's but never achieved the lead role. While playing in the school band Roy played the tenor horn (not very well), Roy also tried to play the guitar but was not very good at that either. Roy jokes that he can't sing and he can't dance so there is only one thing he could do, be a 'DJ'.During the early 70's Roy got interested in radio when one of his neighbors (Allan)built a small pirate radio station. Roy was the presenter Allan the technician but it all ended when they got caught by Allan's Mum.
Roy got interested in discos while running a C.B. radio club and met Harry Mudie who ran scenic 7 Disco. Roy then went out and roadied at different functions with harry, eventually performing at the different venues himself. Roy eventually set up his own roadshow and started gigging on his own after splitting with harry, who went on to become a top magician. Over the years Roy has played at venues all over Scotland to Many kind of crowds. Parties For All Ages, Weddings, Anniversary Parties, Christenings And School Dances. On One Drunken Occasion He Even Played In a Night Club In Corfu "He Was On Holiday At The Time".
Roy recalls:It was the last night of my holiday and everyone wanted to go out for a quiet night. when someone suggested we visit this club we had not been to before. when we went in it was very quiet so I went up to the guy on the decks (after a couple beers or was it glass's of ouzo) and asked for him to say hello to everyone from the hotel his reply was that he could not speak very good English. so I walked away, then he said here you do it and handed me the microphone, so I did. about 4 hours later the rep had to pull me off the stage to go for the bus to the airport I even got offered a job by the owner of the club unfortunately I had too many commitments back home in Scotland.
Roy is also a Presenter on local hospital radio.

Roy stopped doing Disco's for a while to concentrate on his family life but kept up to date with his request show on Hospital Radio
